Tony G on Basketball, Perry and Hellmuth

Tony G is in Istanbul to support the Lithuanian Basketball team one day before the epic World Cup semifinal against the mighty Team USA. He also talks about how he would like to offer Phil Hellmuth some psychological help and the background to that classic "On Your Bike" session with Ralph Perry. Enjoy.

Tony, we're 3 times FIBA Europe champions - twice before the WW2 and once in 2003... Good luck in Istambul. Sėkmės, mes už Lietuvą!!!

I mean, I don't think there's any doubt that HSP is the best poker show ever.
It has best action, best players and best commentator.
However, TBG is one of the few shows which are pretty close action-wise and commentator wise.
Joe Stapleton is pretty hilarious.
I think the biggest problem with BGT is that it's PokerStars sponsored and none of the fulltilt pros can participate. No Dwan, Ivey, Antonius sort of sucks :P

Other than that, it's so awesome Tony doesn't forget his homeland heh :P
People probably don't really get how huge basketball is in LT.Tony didn't mention it, but it's definitely a religion.

Also, goooo Lithuania!
Ir mes ne is tu, kur pralaimim dar nenugaleti.

a true legend, u can buy some of his action for a very good price too. one of the few pros that is only selling for the fans and not just for himself.

Im pretty sure it's Full Tilt Pokers fault that their players do not play on TBG, not Pokerstars fault. Hellmuth still gets to participate as an Ultimate Bet rep.

Anyway, fuck the German shepherds

Tony G Can be an asshole on the table but as he says its not against everyone, but outside of the table
he really is the nicest guy.

Hilarious may be stretching it, though no doubt he is funny, nothing beats Kaplan for mine though.

really nice guy, lot different what you see on the poker table.

i agree with tony that TBG is better than HSP. this is because HSP you see al the pro`s battle it out in an epic poker war, watch this guys plays 1000´s of dollars, but the show dosent appeal to much to all audience because they dont identify with those pro millionares. and in TBG you see the loose canon where theres a normal guy , just like the viewer at home tryng to make some money beating all this pros.so it more fun and the idea that it could be a life changing experince for the loose canon is also appealing for the viewer and it gets more ppl interested in poker.

nice interview

it seems like his has a mild form of skitzaphrenia (or however that is spelled), here he seems ... normal for lack of a better word, but still BRING ON THE RUSSIANS
