Dam the Feds, just wonder how many more poker site are going to fall or just close down thinking they will be next on the chopping block. Will the British pokers site gain more from the Feds shut down of the US sites????

Clearly a black day in the annals of poker history. Pokerstars and Full Tilt have been heavily affected and player confidence will be at an all time low. All bankrolls on both sites are pretty much stuck at present. The Feds have targeted the way payments are processed so this strangles the money side of it. Don't try and transfer to a Euro player for cashing out....this has now been banned I believe. I didn't have any money on there.

Be wary before flooding to another site that is ok, further indictments could follow and this could be the start of a crackdown on the game that leads to full regulation. I think the best lesson is to always ensure you do not hold your full bankroll on poker sites.

I depositted $250 on Stars on Wednesday only to see this happen a couple of days later, but i've withdrawn the $250 this morning and everything seems fine on Stars with regards to withdrawals etc? could be wrong, maybe i won't even get that money but it let me cash-out on there. FullTilt however, it won't even let you connect to the cashier's cash-out server. Which is kidna gay because my whole $5.5k bankroll is on there -.- xx

Where you been gary? The British and European sites (ipoker, 888, party etc.) banned US players years ago.So how are they going to benefit? Contrary to what some Americans like to think, the world does not revolve around the USA. What you will notice I think is that the games will become more difficult to beat on stars and tilt. Don't get me wrong-there are a lot of good American players. But there is a disproportionate number of donks imao.

edit] of course if stars and tilt actually go under european sites will get their non- US players. But this is unlikely to happen.

If you check the poker news it says the sites are back up at www.fulltilpoker.co.uk and www.pokerstars.eu, it seems everything is back to normal except US players can't deposit for now. I really hope they find another payment processor soon.

So basically the US government wants to stop its citizens doing what they can legally do in casinos (gamble, play poker etc) and what they can legally do in brothels and strip clubs (look at naked people) online, purely because it is online. Which is precisely ridonculous.

Yeah, this is completely unacceptable... but I have read that there is some hope coming from a senator who promised to fight against shutting down online poker rooms for US citizens. Anyway, this is really a shock for the US online poker players.

Does anyone know if any of the Poker Pro's on FT or Poker Stars could be prosecuted for being part of these poker sites???

I was worried this was going to happen after the early reports so withdrew my funds, and I've been using a prepaid card so my details are all safe coz I'm guessing now that the FBI have seized FT's bank accounts they've also got members' money and their card details?
