I don't think i would fold.. I mean 99 fits pretty well there, but thats about it, 8 9 still surely doesnt play that way, i cant really put A 9 in his range unless it was clubs... then maybe. I know its only calling for a chop, but I don't think I would manage to fold it... I would say he is trying it on, stopping u from calling for the chop more often than value betting...

It's a horrible position, I would just look at it angrily close my eyes, push call and get pissed off..

On one hand only a retard would show up with a nine in his hand in that spot, on the other hand retards are twenty to the dozen in small stakes tournaments. I wouldn't fold either.

What is this tournament? Some sort of antes up format or something? The 5/5 blinds and the big initial pot looks really peculiar.

i tend to find when faced with these shoves they generally have it. maybe thats just me but i've not managed to chop many pots calling these.

This a million times over. People are terrible at the ante up structure. U are effectively playing 350-700 no ante. With ur stack size this is a shove woo day. Work or your open shoved and re jams and u will avoid a lot of dumb spots.
