Obviously I do not know what your roll is like, but personally a mincash in a $2 MTT is almost entirely insignificant when I am playing to win.
If your bankroll is getting a bit tight then by all means lock up the cash.

I think you pretty much HAVE to try and double up here. The prizes in these things sart at around $3.50 which is hardly a life changing sum of money so i see no way to justify folding the AK. occasionaly you'll be behind here but nowhere near as often as you'll be good. unlucky & wp.

I basically have no roll at the moment but still figured in a $2.20 tourney I have to play to win.
Any thoughts on why the big stack would get involved when isn't going to be any dead money

Because he is a moron. Bluffing with middle pair into a dead pot when he has to know you got him beat ADL is as worse as calling allin on river with the nut lo.

U got it in good!! Ul u had the Russian on the big blind with enough calling chips..stars did the rest and juiced him up!
