So this is my 5000th post on Pokertube.
I was about to do it as meme on bears PLO video but just as I was about to post I had this weird wave of feelings saying that I shouldn't spunk this most monumental of stages of my Pokertube career on trolling a Dabeear video, although that is an acceptable way for anybody to spend any amount of time doing.
So without try to make this too up itself...
I want to say thanks to the guys that run this site, Stefan, Ronnie, Rikard and Baggy. Obviously without these guys, we would be spending pretty much all our time on twoplustwo or something, and obviously not everybody wants to end up that way.
Pokertube has been pretty cool for me, and I know that a lot of you do appreciate what you can do here. The tournaments that they run, with money added week in week out were what gave me a decent bankroll back in my uni days, with tourneys on the likes of Titan and Everest often paying out like $500-$800 for first. And when I joined the site, god, disgusting to think about it actually lol. I posted my first video on here, of me playing Gavin Griffin heads up and beating him. Now whilst that sounds impressive, its not, because I played like an absolute spaz and ran well, but I posted a video under the impression that I knew what I was talking about. Fail.
So through that, I have to say a quick thanks to r00ts, who was pretty much the first person to put me on a road to not being a complete donk. He was pretty much the first person I spoke to properly from PT, and he gave me sound advice for a long time and helped my game a whole lot. On the note of people i've met through this site, have to give a shoutout to Eddycadub, B4RT3K, TeddyisKGB, Cinarocket, UlDuffer, Papabeear, Fitzy, Mr Spewy, Cunego, Panda, Drew (I dunno what you're called on here nowadays bro), qpoker and of course, everyones favourite, Dabeear. I've spoken to these guys on a near daily basis for going on two years now, and met pretty much all of them a few times, and they are a top bunch of guys, and together we've all improved our games considerably over the past couple of years with each others help. Whole bunch of love for these guys and a lot more from this site. When I signed up I didn't imagine I would be going to UKIPTs and such with people from the site, but thats how it played out and its been pretty awesome.
So yeah, i've written more than I intended to write, I was gonna just make a stupid joke, or just post the bear meme in its own thread, but it turned out to be a very self-indulgent speech almost lol.
So cheers for all using the site, cheers for making Pokertube what it is today, and hopefully Speed is a success (GETINVOLVEDWITHSPEED) and hopefully 2012 is as good and profitable as the past few years.
Cheers
Just too add to this, here are some of (for me) the best user videos to be posted on PokerTube, three are my own, but hey this is my 5000th post! Enjoy.
So in near enough chronological order
Dabeear's 'Goodbye' Video: The irony of course being that he came back less than a week later and proceeded to be the most prolific content producer in Pokertube history. Close call guys!http://www.pokertube.com...ext=dabeear&list=103Notbrook's Chillin' 'n' Flippin' video: Its fucking bizzarre, but this did make me laugh a lot. I've spoken to Notbrook a fair bit since, he a funny guy. He actually put out a bunch of content pretending to be Luke Schwartz and convinced a lot of people he was actually him.http://www.pokertube.com...ext=chillin&list=103This was the first video I put out that really people seemed to enjoy of Cunego's 10k+ win in the FTP 42k gtd: Looking back on its, its horrendously amateur, but it did start the fad of filming PokerTube users final tables, something that should be continued to be done by anyone who finds the time. In my defence, I was under the influence of alcohol when this was made.http://www.pokertube.com...Text=Cunego&list=103Rikard has done a lot of pretty outstanding interviews, but this one with Patrik Antonius was by far my favourite. Different side of the guy, its a pretty cool interview I don't imagine he would have given to many other people. http://www.pokertube.com...%20Antonius&list=103You can't really appreciate bear enough, he cops a lot of stick but keeps coming back, and ultimately thats because people do love him really. So I feel that he didn't deserve one, but two tributes (he took these in the right way so you should too!)
http://www.pokertube.com...ext=tribute&list=103This for me, is the content i'm most proud of that i've put out on the site. Along with r00ts, Cina and Mt.Spewmore we did a fairly serious HH review of Spewmore's 3r win on Pokertars. Really appreciated the comments on this, and we did a few more after. http://www.pokertube.com...xt=spewmore&list=103
